As a Physical Therapist, you will diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions, illnesses or injuries that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities as well as they would in their daily lives. Physical Therapists evaluate and diagnose movement dysfunction and use interventions to treat patients. The work itself may be physically demanding, as the Physical Therapist may have to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and stand for long periods of time. Physical Therapist Assistant - Physical Therapy Assistant - PTA Job Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist Assistant, one of your duties will be to record the patients responses to treatments and report the outcome of each treatment to the physical therapist. You will keep the treatment area clean and organized and instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist parents as they practice exercises and functional activities. Additional responsibilities include: Preparing for each patients therapy Assisting in the transportation of patients when moving to or from a treatment area Ordering depleted supplies Answering the phone Filling out insurance forms and other paperwork Reading patient evaluations Being very familiar with the Plan of Care the physical therapist set in place for any given patient and, if need be, relaying any concerns about the Plan of Care Administering balance and muscle strength tests Physical Therapist Assistant - Physical Therapy Assistant - PTA
